The Limousine Associations of New Jersey (LANJ) has announced that it will officially be rolling out its own insurance program called Livery-sure a product Post Financial Services Group. Offered exclusively to members of the LANJ, Livery-sure is the culmination of over 3 years of research, data collection, and proposals put together by Tony Mahon of AJM Insurance Management, Inc. and Brad Post of PA Post. “This is a prelude to the possibility of having our own captive,” says Barry Lefkowitz, executive director of the LANJ. “Livery-sure is going to cover more of our members and be beneficial to operators of all sizes.” The program was unanimously approved by the LANJ board and will be launched in early May, according to Post and Mahon.
Mahon was originally asked by the association to find an insurance program that could meet the needs of all members. “One of the problems at that point is that we were dealing with a hard market in the insurance industry,” Mahon says. “What was out there was expensive and we wanted to find an insurance program that could somewhat stabilize costs.” After contracting with companies to conduct a feasibility study and actuarial work—all of which was paid for by AJM so the association wouldn’t need to go into pocket—Mahon ran into the issue of not being able to find another viable plan in place to go off of. “The transportation market was shrinking while the overall market was softening, and I heard that there was an agent in North Jersey who had a program specifically for limousines and that’s when I met Brad,” says Mahon. “I was impressed with his programs and markets and communicated with him the association’s concerns and he immediately went to work.”
Post says the association will benefit from any member who chooses to use Livery-sure whether for auto liability and physical damage alone or also for property, general liability, EPLI, workers’ compensation or employee benefits. “The program will only be available through P.A. Post and AJM. There is something for everyone from a one to three car operator to an operator with 100 plus vehicles. We are also paying special attention to the smaller operators by offering several options on financing and a “quick quote” option for the 1-3 car operators based on MVR profiles,” says Post. P.A. Post/Livery-sure will also be sponsoring safety and loss control seminars throughout the year at LANJ meetings. More information about how LANJ members and the Association will benefit from the program can be found at www.liverysure.com.
